The Event, certified zero waste
#TheEvent2016
In 2015, eee consulted to bridge the gap to Certified Zero Waste for The Event, an elegant fundraiser for the entire Las Virgenes Unified School District in support of the education foundation, The Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools.
In 2016, we partnered with The Foundation to produce the certified zero waste 5th year anniversary féte. With over 1,000 guests in attendance from the extraordinary Las Virgenes community, we crafted a memorable and meaningful evening that benefitted over 15 schools.
Held under the stars in the heart of Calabasas, we transformed the Calabasas Civic Center into a sophisticated block party that featured chic dining and lounge areas throughout the gorgeous courtyard and tree-lined streets. Guests enjoyed tastings from premier local restaurants including Geoffrey’s of Malibu and wineries like Moet Chandon while perusing one-of-a-kind auction items in the silent auction. We added new elements that included a beer and dessert garden and an intimate, farm-to-table dining experience that featured dishes created just for The Event by Tender Greens and Weiser Family Farms.
The evening, emceed by actor Jerry O’Connell culminated with a live concert performance that literally had people dancing in the street. Very special thanks to Deanna Glassberg, Rhonda Bacot, Victoria Charles and the impeccable event committee, Aimee Haber with the City of Calabasas, AJ Scola at Secural Security and Les Sumpter and Bertha of A Rental Connection, without whom the evening would not have been possible.
